Should I forgive my boyfriend for cheating?
I’ve been dating this guy for 6 months. Its his first serious relationship, I’ve been in a couple before. He’s 22 and I’m 21. I recently found out by looking as his phone that two months ago when he thought he was moving back to sweden (we live in LA) he cheated on mi with a girl he knows i strongly dislike. He said he didn’t tell me because he felt too regretful and it wasn’t worth it to put me through that pain when it was a big mistake on his part and it meant nothing to him. He texted her telling her she was “pretty ******* hot”, they got drunk and made out twice in one night, and the next night she invited him over for sex and he said no. He said he felt too bad because he likes me. But when she said “just so you know it would’ve been awesome” he replied with “i don’t doubt that ;)”. He said he did it because he freaked out and felt caged in and thought he was moving back home and he said he doesn’t really know what triggered it, but said that it had nothing to do with me because i make him the happiest man ever. i forgave him because i love him and he said he would never do it again and i could see that he regretted it. Am i wrong for forgiving him? how do you know when the kiss meant something to them? He swore to me never to see her again and i made him delete her number and Facebook because they remained friends and still hung out. I prohibited him from seeing her again and he said ok. What should I do? I’m afraid he might do it again but he said he would never. I love him and I really want to believe that it meant nothing. Guys out there, do men really cheat when they feel like the relationship is getting too serious? this is what he said to me. Please answerrrrrr I’m freaking out!!! thank you
